How many of you have completely repainted your 4th gen Maxima? (I'm not going to ask 5th gen, because likelihood is quite low).

Of those who have repainted, how many have stuck with the original paint?

RE: Repainting...

My car has a great paint job because it has been garaged all of its life. I have some hood scratches, but nothing I couldn't buff out to hide. Were I to repaint it, I would repaint it the same color because of the VINs and security info. Just trying to help.

My car has only been garaged for part of its life. So, it has some extra scratches here and there, and a few paint stains from bird droppings that stayed on too long. Aside from that, the paint looks fabulous. My secret was staying away from car washes. Their machines are too abrasive.

Re: RE: Repainting...

My car has only been garaged for part of its life. Aside from the usual road debris scratches from driving and a couple of subtle bird dropping stains on the roof, the paint is in great shape. Part of my secret is avoiding car washes--their machines are almost always abrasive (even "brushless").

A few months back I saw this 95/96 Maxima in Westchester County NY that had the worst looking paint job I'd ever seen. Chipped, scratched, stained, and faded. Absolutely awful. And ironically, it had beautiful shiny chrome rims!

Funny you should ask, my car is about to be painted Viper blue, or close to it. I'm going to get it a little darker than Viper blue. I've been quoted anywhere from $3K to $4500. That's for a perfect show quality job. But I'm getting it done for cheaper. My friend is doing all the body work and installing my new Sarona kit, and some of my other friends have hookups at shops, so thankfully it won't be that much. For everything I wanted done, the kit, shaved moldings, shaved keyhole, etc. it would have been like $6K normally. If everything works out, I'll pay less than half of that total.

i'd go with the stock color if you like it.. custom colors are expensive as hell like the Viper blue... I have horrible paint... the cars like never been garaged and the people who had it before me obviously didnt giva faq...

well the paints not thaaat bad but not up to show quality... which i wished it was...

does anyone know how much it would cost to do a full repaint on a Superblack max? like a high quality job
