Did anyone hear with happen to the race that was to take place last saturday, with the guy who was to race the two Hondas

 

Well my budy has a 98 honda accord coup and whenever we race I beat the **** out of him if I shift right(oops)

Also one day when i was driving home from collage i noticed a "rice" boy in a hooked up honda accord well so I waited till he tried to race and as soon as he pulled in front of my car i down shifted into 3rd and took of after him in no time I was in 4th gear smilling as I was passing his slow assssssssss

 

What the Hell is a "rice" boy ?

 

I think it refers to an asian person who hooks up their and makes it look over done

Riceboy doesn't refer strictly to Asian person. It's actually anyone who have stickers all over their cars, huge *** wings that seem like they should be on an airplane instead, or exhaust so big you can probably put your head in it. There are more, too much to list. I see people still stereotype riceboy as being Asian only. Look around, you see riceboy of all colors.

 

it is quite a stero-type...for an asian person--I think if we think about it, we can come out with pretty interesting "names" for each ethnic group that hooks up their cars...

but that would be wrong...so *oh well*

 

Actually the term "rice" came from back int he days when they discribed motorcycle from Japan... called them Rice rockets... back then, I guess it was somewhat of a racial thing... but today, the term rice is really used very equally. Basically anyone that has a combination of the follow can be considered rice:
1) blue headlights, I said blue, not kinda sorta blue
2) blue turn signals
3) clear tail lights
4) pink brake lights
5) "wings" big enough to hang clothes
6) Double/Triple decker wings
7) Outrageous body kits
8) chopped springs
9) sporting stickers when you are not even sponsered
10) baby blue paint jobs
11) racing strips on an import(although some can be ok)
12) green turn signals
13) Altezza tail lights on anything other than an altezza, although the previous gen accords will look "OK" with them.


I am sure there is more... but it's a combination of the above things.

ok I also own a civic that is hooked up.I think it looks damm good, it not over dressed and loud but its not stock. Racing sticker on the windshield. does this make it a "rice" car

 

I got the clear tail lights, so I'm a riceboy? Well, not for long. I'm painting mine soon. Resulting in the half clear/half red lights.

 

They were calling the 1969-1973 Datsun 510 a Rice rocket in Motor trend way before I was born. Its an old term used alot now because the imports are back in style now. I pulled up to this Intrega on the LV strip a while back he had California plates and TSW stickers or paint all over the dam car. I asked if he even raced and he said no, I race SCCA Autocross at the time and asked if he wanted to race my 510 with my Stock L20b he said no and I laughed at him and peeled off. Now thats a good definition of a rice boy. All Stickers and no go

What do you guys have against stickers (Vinyl) I just stated my own side buisness sell vinly stickers.

 

Why the heck should I advertise for Nuespeed, KYB, blah blah blah... they dont' pay me a cent. Hell I paid them. That's my problem with them. I have stickers on my helmet... "www.maxima.org" and "Cattman Performance". why? I support maxima.org and Brian Catts. Plus, I HATE a car that's cluttered... hell I don't even like pin strips. Oh one more sticker... http://www.conecrazy.com, on the CRX... I'm a memeber and want to promote the site...

Rice is an opinion... however, the definition of rice is pretty well established these days. There are guys out there that accept this... they know they are rice. Then they are guys with clear blue everything, a huge sticker collection, etc... that won't accept fact. Sometimes I ask myself "do they REALLY think that looks good?" *barf*.

Oh well to each their own...

i've got a CRX: 1 sticker, "www.conecrazy.com"; 16" rims for normal driving; 15" GSR with Kumho V700 when autoxing; an exhaust; an intake; an engine swap... but nothing else. I don't think it's rice, but I am sure someone out there thinks it is.

where is this thread going? it went from a guy asking about the race between the max and two hondas. then i just drifted to what a rice boy is. well let me bring this thread back to what ever happen in that race anyway. my friend got a 96 honda accord and i beat him pretty easy. my other friend has a 00 honda accord and i race him once but it was a short race so can't determine who won. i don't think accord v6 has a manual transmission. all their v6 are auto. i have an auto on my max. but i want to know the outcome of the max vs. the two honda accords.

 

who did the engine swap, well then of course u can smoke them hondas with the turbo u got

 

if ur referring to me then no. hope that was me but no. i have all stock. but i did put up the post about the bumper swap.

The only accords with a darn as far as 1/4 is concerned is probably the current gen V6. They are very well matched to the auto max. The previous gen V6 was slower than the 4 with a 5speed...

Well no I just started adding stuff to my 96' maxima se 5speed but so far all I have is a Stillen muffler, B-pipe,
clear front bumpers, a stillen or K&N intake, RSTB, FSTB and a RSB soon to come a Y-pipe and then I'll be out of ideas. Well maybe not =)

Oh one more thing when i did race my friend that has a 98' accord coupe V-6 that was before I put those things in my car now when ever we have fun on the road =) its a little esier to beat him before I had to try not to mess up now I have a little room for error in shifting but my other friend who has a 94' accord coupe thats as ricey as can be we raced once last week I did win but I messed up shifting in to 2nd so he caught up to me and I did not get to smoke his assssssss and he said that he missed 3rd gear so I guess we will have to race again

You can add these "rice" definitions:

1. Having 10 degrees negative camber because your springs are chopped down to the ground...

2. Having "smoked" out headlight covers.. like a pair of dark sunglasses over your lights...

3. Monster mufflers that are not just oversized for no reason, but also sound like one long annoying fart... very common on 4 cylinder engines...

4. Putting a "TYPE R" sticker on your car when there is nothing on it that will help you win at a real "race".

5. DISCO or neon lighting either inside or outside the car...

6. Over and above having excessive stickers, but having stickers with company names that just sound obnoxious...
i.e. WEAPON R, HOMICIDE RACING,

7. Having fancy script style letters airbrushed on the car proclaiming yourself as a delusionally grandiose member of some fictional non-existent racing team:
i.e. " blah blah Racing Team", "Forest Gump Racing Team", etc...
