over the last 2 weeks i started a retro for a member in the 4rth gens. we put E55s into his stock chrome headlights. today we are 95% complete with them. they are on his car aimed and rolling down the road. We will keep you all updated!

we have left:

to make custom graffiti shrouds.
wiring a thicker gauge wire harness for high beam selinoids
post some pics.

yeah its a basic shroud with hvac tape over it. his hidplanet.com name is BrandNew. I have templates that will have stainless steel shrouds cut up. he is going to have one of his boy's air brush graphics on the shrouds.

its gunna be personalized. he will air brush graffiti style words. I think it would be better blacked out but the customer is always right ya know? either way they are 102301230 x better than stock. with keeping the high beam function.

 

ah i see...air brushing. I know people like things personalized..i just PERSONALLY wouldnt do that in a headlight shroud.

I would love some of those headlights though...i almost snagged some e55 bixenon projectors for 100 bucks awhile back but I just have things that need attention so I cant spend 400 bucks on headlights.

man, im not hatin but those look awful to me. i can kinda picture it lookin better with a clean shroud, and i like the idea of airbrushing (used to write grafiitti), but the craftmanship on these looks poor to me. but if you like it i love it.

 

Werd...paint'em black. That foil looks hideous.

 

again thats just temperary until the real shrouds are painted up. couldnt have light leaking all around the projectors. not to mention he had a 8000k hid pnp kit in there 9004. tear*

lemme make my criticism constructive. imo the shroud should be concave where you have it convex, and the projecter should have been set back in the housing a lil more. don't know how much of this was customer reqeust, but i can still see it looking ok if the shroud is well constructed and the airbrushing is sick.

Well I see that me and heresmymind have a lotta haters the shroud that is in there is temporary and my maxima.org name is brandnew which is y it says that in there.....

As for the black housing yea it looks ok but I write graff along wit a buddy of mine and we came up wit a couple of sketches that will look aight... newayz everyone does black..... its sumtin new that I have yet 2 see..

As for the craftsmanship the project is not done and heresmymind does sum good **** this was just an update of a yet 2 be finished product...

But hey everyone is entitled to their opinion... but I think people should read a lil bit more b4 trying to put sum1 on blast....

 

I didn't mean to put you on blast. I just figured since the headlights were closed up and on the car it was finished.
Post up pics of the finished product..my mind is open to originality. But I also agree that "less is more".

 

after multiple critics he has changed his mind and wants them blacked out. so they will be all blacked out with a small chrome bezel ring around the projector itself. to add "some" flavor. i thought the graffiti idea was original and new but you all have closed minds.
