Ignition problem

Hey guys,

When I go to start my car I turn the key and nothing usually happens. It usually takes some wigleing the key around to get the car to start. I have read that this is usually just an electrical problem with the ignition but i have no idea how to fix it and it has goten me in trouble a few times.

I have a 97 5spd GXE.

Thanks for the help

similar problem

i have a similar but different problem.
9 times out of 10 i will turn the key and the engine will start no problem. then occasionally i will turn the key and there will be a full one or two second delay before the i hear the engine turnover. the ignition seems to be more responsive when the engine is warm. for instance in the morning it seems i get that delay more often then when i am running in and out of the supermarket. is there a quick fix for this? or is this going to be a problem in the future? should i just live with it?
