Its happened the past couple of weeks. Nothing serious until today. Basically when I turn the key it sounds like that the starter is just sitting in the case and spinning. But the weird part is, is that i'm getting a tach signal like my timing ring is spinning but the car does not crank over. Anybody got any ideas what could possibly be wrong. I understand the starter not shooting out and catching the flywheel but why am I getting a tach signal?
