Hi guys.

Just in case you guys didnt realize it...All of you who are modding up your cars with superchargers, shocks, etc etc, are just wasting money.

ALL CARS DEPRECIATE!!!

There are much better things to put your hard earned cash into.

such as...

1) Your Lady (or Guy...whatever your preference)
2) Bank
3) College Fund
4) Roth IRA
5) Charles Schwab or Mutual Portfolio
6) Stocks (they are very low right now...get them before the lowered interest rates really kick in)
7) did I say Stocks?
8) oh yeh! can't forget stocks

(---===Because I save 35% of my pay and place into various funds, accounts, etc...I will have and estimated 12.5 million for retirement by the age of 50..which means a 2 million dolla house, and 10 million worth of cars and planes===---)

!!! just started saying this stuff afer realizing how much cash I dished out on the damn car...!!!

OK! FLAME ME NOW!!!

It's BARBEQUE TIME!

Think

Why the hell are you even posting ? Seriosly No one is going to get mad when you are saying "flame me pleze" no one cares. That sounds gay. We like to mod our cars becuase the maxima is a sweet car, and thats our hobby. Pretty simple, eh ?

Your wasting time in writing this thread. Its a pretty gay thing to start. The purpose of Maxima.Org is for Maxima Enthusiasts to come together, sharing idea's, tips, experiances, ect.

I dont understand why you are even posting.

....
Why do you buy a 2k Maxima in the 1st place? What the hell do you need it for anyways? Just buy some used early 80s Chevy, car is for transportation, it will get you around, why spend 20X as much and buy a new Maxima when it serves the same purpose?

I hope i'm getting the point across....

People mod the car for comfort, speed, control, looks, handling, even safety.. These are reasons you bought your car I bet, right?

They are not wasing their money. I think your fundamental point is that they are spending their money but not investing their money. There is room for some of each in most personal budgets. My personal philosophy: out of every dollar that comes in, you should spend some, invest some, give some to charity.

... 6) Stocks (they are very low right now...get them before the lowered interest rates really kick in)
I don't claim to have a crystal ball, but I expect stock prices to drop considerably between now and Year End.

Everything in moderation !

It's not like folks here just blew 35K on a new SUV (a totally impractical vehicle for most folks) or spent 60K on a BMW M3. They made a sensible buy of a reasonably priced car, the Maxima, then spend a little, not a lot, of cash and have fun modifying it.

True, everyone should invest. True, most folks start investing _way_ too late. True, we could all drive 10 year old Corollas and we'd save some money. For that matter, we can all live in tiny trailers sitting next to a superfund site and save some money there too. We can all go "low budget" as the Kinks sang years ago.

But, you have to 'enjoy the ride' as you go through life (the life ride, not just the car ride). What good is a pile of money at the end of your life if you didn't have some fun along the way ?

one of the best respones. he did not get mad (which is obv what you wanted....which i find pretty sad/funny). its all about a hobby..before my car i had no real interst in anything. now i do. i hear what youre saying though, i'd like you be as finac set as you, but most of us arent at that stage yet to be worrying about that and the older ppl here have well paying jobs and am sure have saved money up too. humm, punch line "i modded it for me". ppl think its for show, or worse for GIRLS. thats sad. i do it for ME. later.

Modifying and restoring automobiles is an American Icon. No matter what kind of vehicle. Car owners have been modifying their rides since there were rides to modify. Just look around. There are all different types. The beautiful thing is. Some people can mod their rides and still invest. And like other Max owners say! It's their money! That's why we earn it. To spend it on what ever we want. Remember, this is a free country. Spend it, on whatever you want.

You're only young once and you only have one life to live. Why hold back so much on things that you like now? I think that you can have more fun with money now when you're still young than when you're all old and retired.

Tried posting this earlier. Something went wrong. Once again. This IS the Good 'Ol U.S. of A. People have been modifying automobiles since there were autos too modify. There are car/truck/motorcycle/etc. clubs all over. We love our transportation. Some reasons people like to modify their toys are hobbies or self satisfaction (or both).

Others invest money and buy automobiles already pre-modified (AMG's, M5's, etc.). They all cost $$$$$. Like some of the other posts. It's their money. Let them do whatever they want with it. Who are you to judge. Some might think you're crazy to gamble (invest). Why not go to Atlantic City or Vegas. Your odds might be better. It's YOUR money.

Just about everything has been said that needs to be, but my mom tried "kwak's" approach to life--not living, but holding on to every penny and "nickel-and-dimeing". she really wishes she had done more things in her youth before settling down with a family. now she encourages me to enjoy the now while still planning for the future.

if you live in Montana you might be aight, but around here, no one is promised tomorrow so we enthusiats enjoy each day and take pride in what we do to our cars.

and kwak, since your "stock piled" paper is all a bunch of binary data on some cpu somewhere, you better pray that some hackers don't target your "riches" then you'd really be in tight situation. yeah?

What happens if you die tomorrow? How much fun did you have in your life? What good is all that money then?

PS - Anyone could argue about money. Why not shower only once a week, so you save cash on deodorant and water bills?

Do what makes you happy, and do it now!

my reasons

power mods - making mustang drivers cry

suspension mods - swerving so we dont run into squirels

big brakes - stopping fast so we dont run over your pets

body kits - they look cool

rims - bling bling

overall - its what i like , its what makes me happy. maybe you like sitting on your wallet and letting it get bigger. but im gonna do what i please with my cash. maybe if you tried it , youll understand. the max is a great car stock , with amazing potential. which brings up another reason for mods ,,, everyone thinks its just for getting groceries and moms and stuff. untill they are left far far far behind... i babbled a lot in this post , but i hope i got my point across.

p.s. why would you spend all your money on a girl. i mean , i dont mind spending money on mine, but im not going to spend all of it on her, i mean really , then i just look like im trying to buy her affection. but from hearing you talk , you probably didnt get many girls as a kid (just fooling...its probably true though)
