Well, I couldn't find any info on this forum about what type of synthetic oil to use, so I used 10w30 to fill my 98. Kmart didn't have Mobil 1 oil filters that fit my car, so I got a Castrol oil filter. Anyways, my car wasn't shifting well before (5000+ mi on regular oil change since the last time), but now it shifts a lot better. Also, my mpg was pretty bad the last few weeks, hopefully that will change after this nice new oil change.

Anyone know what type of Mobil 1 is optimal for a 4th gen? Hopefully I didn't use the wrong kind. thanks for da help!

 

I live in Southern California and the weather is not extreme at all, in fact it quite predictable. Never below 45 degrees and never above 100. I like to use a thinner viscosity since I think it flows better. Also, I think the Nissan oil filter is superior over many other name brand filters. I just still to the Nissan brand, besides they are only like $3 on sale.
