Coming out of storage...

So, my max has been sitting for approx. 6 years. In that time, I've gone through 3 batteries, and my almost new tires are dry rotted. I've driven it maybe 20 miles in the last 6 years, and this weekend I am going to finally fix it, and start driving it again. Aside from the new tires and an oil change, what else should I do? I figure plugs, and fuel filter, but what else?

wow thats crazy. I would recommend changing engine oil and other fluids. How many miles do you have on it?

Why oh why ?
the maxima is not a wine bottle

I would look at belts as well, might be dry and cracked, definitely most fluids like brake, engine, coolant, i am not sure about tranny.

caliper pins may be seized so check that as well, fuel filter, plugs for sure cause that stuff is cheap anyways

PS: what car is that spoiler from ? looks sick hanging back like that

Might want to change those altezza's. Pretty much all fluids. My Maxima sat in my garage for about a little under two years while I was overseas with the Army, then it just took a hard (very hard) crank. props on the spoiler man.

Fuel goes bad after 3 years IIRC so change that out. I would FLUSH out all fluids in the motor as well. Check the belts and other things as stated about too.

Deffinetely get rid of that old fuel. New tank of gas and a can of Seafoam. Change all fluids and anything rubber.
How many miles does the car have on it? It looks nice.
Is that a Stillen wing? I like it. Would look really good with a body kit.

It has ~76k miles. That pic is before it went under the knife, so back in 2000. I didn't like the Altezzas (the ones in that pic are the 3rd set ever made for the Max!), so I decided to do a R34 4-door taillight conversion. Well, after three body shops had there try at it, I ended up just parking it because I ran out of money, and I kinda moved on/forgot about it.

That spoiler is an original Stillen Type-II from back in the day. I sold it on here quite a few years ago for some decent money since they stopped making them.

Here are some current pics. I have another 4th gen that I'm swapping the rear quarters/deck lid from:

I'm going to go wingless with the 97+ taillights and the R34 bodykit rear bumper, with some modification. I'll definitely post some pics when it's finished!

When I bought it, it was just the Greddy SP. That antenna thing is the factory antenna base, just had it painted body color. I've always gotten the Pontiac thing with the Stillen SMX grill. Oh well, I still like it!

They are 19" Konig Rushs, but I had the rivets shaved, and had them re-painted gunmetal grey.

It went to storage because I didn't want to pay that much for the body work. I have a few other cars, so it was just put on hold. I put it in a storage unit, and I pretty much forgot about it.

I'm planning on putting OEM quarters and a deck lid on this weekend. No one can finish the R34 conversion without me dropping 6-7k on body work, at least how I wanted it to be finished. I wanted it to look like it came from the factory that way.

Whats up Matt! You still rollin a 3rd gen? My plan is to finish the body work this weekend, drop it off for paint next Friday, then drive it a few months and sell it. I'm looking at a C5 Vette since they're getting so cheap.

Yeah Bill, I'm still rollin the VE.. blew the engine a few years back and got it running again last summer. it sat for 2 years itself. I drove the 240 and my truck through then. I'm looking to buy another DD when I sell BlehmCo and then finish what I want to do with the Max. big plans... involve a transmission behind the engine instead of beside it.

Before you sell BlehmCo, let me know if you have a 4th gen rear BBK that you need to get rid of. And a RWD Max? You're crazy!
