car stalls in drive

car stalls in drive

someone help me please my car runs great but when i put in drive or reverse it turns off but in neutral and park its fine and in case i changed the
fuel pump
coolant temperture sensor
knock sensor
upper and lower intake gaskets
cleaned throttle body
idle air control valve
throttle position sensor
maf(new)
camshaft sensor(new)
sparkplugs(new)
and its been to 3 dealers no one finds anything

any cel.. i had a similar problem but it would only do it once in a while. it turned out to be the coolant tepm sensor. changed it like 3 weeks ago and hasent done it since. good luck

Definitely sounds like a transmission problem. 5spd swap time!

It is your transmission. More specifically the hydraulic pump going bad.

i drop off my car at a good nissan dealer last night this morning they called me and told me something is bad in the transmission

It seems like I have read some where that there is a sensor in the transmission that could cause that problem. You might want to check that out first. I would suggest you buy a Haynes book and it will tell you about the different sensors.

i took it to the dealer and they told me the torque converter locked up and the tranny is ruined so if anyone knows wheres i can a tranny in jersey for a cheap price

sorry to bring up so an old thread, but my car is showing these same symptoms as the OP. my car still drives, but don't want to end up destroying the trans. Is the a known problem with the torque converters? possibly replace the solenoids? really don't want to have to pull the trans out....
