If you plan to keep the car, I'd go with an OEM/Nissan... most aftermarket and rebuilts wont last as long as a genuine Nissan .

I recently installed the one on ebay. No problems so far and its cheap OEM replacement.

How do you know the alternator is going out? Most people only knew when the battery dies. Is that what is happening?

When it does, and the car has close to 100K miles, likelihood is just the brushes are worn out. In that case just keep your trusty OEM alternator and simply replace the brushes. they are cheap and not that hard to do once the alternator is out of the car.

Brushes last around 100K miles. If you have this much and more miles on your car, may be brushes will do it.
