My K/S and you guys rock!!

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give the forum props for all the help I've gotten from you with my car! Ever since the 1997 facelift, I have loved the Maxima and have enjoyed every minute of owning mine since I picked it up last January.

Obviously, as with any 10 year old car, issues will come up and prior to the MAX (other than a interesting alternator change out) the only other "maintenance" I have performed on any car I've owned was to fill the gas tank!!

Recently my car as misfiring etc and all the symptoms pointed to the K/S... .came on here, found the cheapest place to buy it and found out that a few of you guys had a bit of trouble with it... So, I get on eBay find me an OEM K/S for $100 less than the dealer and call my trusty mechanic and ask for a quote to install it (labor only). 2 hours later they leave me a message telling me they want $323 just to install the K/S! I laughed my *** off! So I came back here found out it was one bolt, how to do it, what tools I'd need to buy etc...

Once I got back from Sears, me, a guy who never works on cars with no manual got it done in 20 minutes (would have been a lot less but for my banana fingers!) I can't believe how much money you guys have saved me already and that the quality of the information you guys have put together is so good it even gives me the confidence to have a go at it myself.

Don't wanna come off as gay.. (tho maybe too late) but just wanted to say thanks!

Kevin
