Ditto! Put a boot on the shifter and the setup will be really clean.

Is that really painted? Looks like aluminum to me. If it is paint, good job! Do you know the paint color? I'd like a setup like this if I don't do brushed aluminum.

thanks for the compliments blackonblack and wirelessdude. I put a lot of work into the car personalizing every part of it that I could in as 'tasteful' of a fashion as I could and yet still remain very custom. The shift boot and painting the c/c indeed are two very good ideas, and were in fact on my to-do list. Unfortunately, the car was totaled last weekend, so all the custom work will probably end up in the trash can (or sold here on the forums). I had to post ***** here to get up my 15 posts so I can post pictures of the car and try and part it out before it gets towed out of my apartment parking lot. So of course, I had to show a lil somethin somethin that I had going for me. The thread will be up soon, depending on what car i buy next depends on what I put up for sale.

but thanks again for the compliments. didn't mean to ramble (and hopefully won't threadjack)

Yeah. Not to rub it in Thurz but electronic climate control is mandatory. Especially the '99 with outside temperature display.

Nice Olez! I like it. I was so close to leaving my PRND. I do still think about it. Maybe I should. Yours looks really good. Were you able to retain the orange gear indicator?

Thanks semper and ptato.
I actually found ur old thread ptato and got the idea about the shifter from there, but designed the boot myself.
Yeah, the indicator works too, I had to do some extra work for that though.

Here's a post about the cumstom boot I made http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=546268

I was thinking about something similar in my own car since I can't get the console to quite match the rest of my car. I happened to find some vinyl the same exact color as my leather seats and wanted to wrap my console. I wasn't sure though, I haven't seen too many leather wrapped dash consoles and was afraid it would look a little cheesy. How happy are you are with yours?

You 'need' it, eh?

I got it here on the org through a group deal quit a while ago. The group deal was ran by a member with the name "Shadow" I believe.

Similar ones can be had on ebay.

I dont know weather this is a new idea. But i was thinking what if one would modify the plastic where the center console air vents are and put a TV screen there. kinda like the skylines have a screen in the middle?

heres the only pic i have of the stock interior btw.

Why mess with the vents when there is a perfect place for a TV where the radio is?

because its something different and its easier to look at the screen when its higher not to mention safer, cause lets face it. You shouldn't be looking down on your cd player or tv screen when your driving but most of us do anyway.

Exactly! You shouldn't be looking at it while driving, so it doesn't matter where it is.
I was just trying to say that it is too much work to put a TV in the vents. Putting it in the radio's place is pretty much a direct fit.
But if you want to be different, I guess it's kinda interesting to put it there. Although, I don't think it will look good, but that's just me.
