Need help assembling Cig Lighter into shifter trim

I just bought a new 5 speed shifter trim as well as the cig lighter piece and the ring that goes around it but I can't seem to figure out how to attach it to the shifter trim..anyone have any ideas? Or if someone can be so kind as to take a pick of theirs and how it fits? I messed w/ it yesterday and I don't know how to attach it! Thanks in advance guys!

Push it in and twist it this way and that until it locks in there.

Do I push the piece in from the front of the trim or from behind? I thought I tried it every way possible but I guess not...

Also the only pieces you need is that black plastic ring and the actual 12v adapter itself right?

ok you have the wire that looks like a "T" electical plug that plugs into the cigerettle lighter...you hold that piece with your hand and put the shifter trimer down into the console and then you have to hold that T wire through the hole and then you plug your cigerette lighter into that T plug from the outside of the shifter trim then you should do what Post #2 said

or you can just have your cigerette lighter pluged into the shifter trim doing what Post #2 said then plug the T electical plug into that Cig lighter and then just install the shifter trim into the console....

Well where does the black plastic ring come into play? It looks like it snaps into the cig lighter but I'm not sure...

That's the site, just call them to order it, it's much easier to call them and tell them what you need!

ok do u have the shifter trim piece out right now ?

basically it snaps in from behind so that when u use it it doesnt pop out, its got like this little plastic piece sticking out, u put it into the trim piece hole and twist, much like a screw

Step 1: have the input plug sitting outside of your shifter trim Ciggerette lighter hole(yes my shifter trim is cracked but it will still show you how to do it).

Step 2: Plug the ciggerette lighter into the plug that is sticking out of your shifter trim

Step 3: Push the whole unit through the shifter trim and rotate till it locks into place(you will be able to feel)

Step 4: Installing the shifter trim to the middle console- Push the top of the shifter trim into the console first(as shown, yes my shifter trim is cracked on the bottom but still doesnt matter)

Step 5: snap the bottom part of the shifter trim into the console by pushing down in to the console (push on the left and right bottom corner you will hear a snap, which means it is secured into the console)

Yea thats all i can help you with
