Does anyone know how to get around this. I called Jim Wolf and he said they wont have anything until the first of next year. I have done some mods that get me to the 115 mark pretty fast and do not care to make anymore until I can get past it. If anyone knows please fill me in.

I know a cheap way to do it...

Unplug the speed sensor on the tranny.. You won't know what speed you are going but niether will the ECU!!!!
Actually you could know because those new GPS things tell you how fast you are traveling.. If you have that then you are set.. Rig a switch to disable the speed sensor when you want to go faster then 115.... Use the GPS to find out your actual speed.

Only the GXE's w/o the C&C package are limited.

The SE & GLE are not limited.

They make aftermarket ECU's for 95-97 Maximas. THey have yet to do anything for the 98-99's

There is a way to remove the limiter. Sprntmax posted a thread about this. You can use the search option to find this or maybe even PM him.

Here is the thread to remove your limiter and still be able to see how fast you are going.

People do the swap of putting in a 95 ECU into a 97 and people have had nothing but success wiht this.

You can also get the Apexi Digital Rev/Speed meter and that will remove your limiter as well.

OK...So I have the '97 GXE WITH C&C....

(I'm assuming that C&C is the remote for the doors/trunk/windows and factory alarm and power seat)

Does that mean I have no governor?

rofl.

I wish...

I actually already got 1 speeding ticket today.

There's this road in Seattle (Aurora, or Hwy 99).

It is one way with 3 lanes wide, perfectly straight, and no stop lights or intersections for miles. But the friggin speed limit is 40. Damned bleeding heart libereal commie Seattle City Council pukes. (laugh)

I got a 59 in a 40, but I was nice to the cop, so he dropped it to 50 in a 40....

So no, I'm not going to risk another today.

Maybe I'll take it down to SIR Speedway next Sunday and try it out.

I just got in from racing, and chillin and my car got up to 125 easy. The only reason i didnt push it more is because of my tires which have no traction, and i need new struts/shocks really bad. Hope to see what it can do when i get my ecu, tires, struts/shocks, and downpipe in about 2 months. The only way you will know what your car can do is if you try, so check it out for yourself, and then see what needs to be done.

Doh.. '97 5-speed SE's have no limiter and you should be able to do in the 140's stock.
