Some owners insist that you must use Nissan factory brake parts to avoid brake squeal. However, I've had good results with name-brand replacement parts such as Raybestos.

Be sure to reinstall the factory shims unless your new pads are the kind with "built-in" shims. In addition, apply Blue Goo anti-squeal compound. Please refer to the Haynes repair manual, page 9-7.

For aftermarket "performance" pads, you can try Axxis MetalMasters (i think GotRice www.eatricezone.com [Phuong] can gettem for a good price) or www.MaximaDriver.com for the Porterfield group deal. Both sets are supposed to be nice pads.

I had the Porterfields, sold them cuz i got wilwoods now.

I just got Porterfields installed today. My mechanic commented that he himself uses Porterfields for racing.

Nissan OEM pads are fine for street purposes. They are quiet and tend to last a long time. If you want performance pads, check out Porterfields or Axxis Metalmasters. Both dust more than stock pads but offer better fade characteristics compared with stock.

I have the axxis pads. They work awesome! I have some squeek due to not using the "blue goo" stuff, but I am now going to change that since I know what to use. There is NO brake fade either. You'll love them

Porterfield is actually located in southern california, Costa Mesa I believe, so if you are in the LA area, you can go there in person to buy the pads. I just installed my porterfields today, and after bedding them in, they perform excellently. Very strong stopping power, especially during panic stops.

Check out racebrakes.com for more info.
