Is a CAI worth it if my exhaust is stock?

So you don't need an upgraded exhaust to see benefits? Is there a CAI other than Place Racing? If there is, I'd like to know which is quietest, not that that's easy to answer. I don't even know why I'm asking. No one ever has a definitive answer about which something-or-other is loudest or quietest.

How about Cheston's claim that engine bay air taken in by a Pop Charger is almost as cool as wheelwell air? Is a Pop Charger as good? I know it's been discussed, but I can't find any definitive answers...
Stillen Intake (or popcharger) vs. CAI

Which intake results in higher hp gain remains highly debatable... mixed dyno results. Two facts, CAI is definitely louder, some mistaken it for hp gain, not always the case. Sencondly- you'll need a hacksaw

If you're looking to eventually get a y-pipe etc., replacing stock airbox (with either CAI or Stillen Intake) is a step in the right direction.
I agree with that
I think you should all do this test. After driving home from about 6 miles of street signals, I lifted my hood right after pulling into my garage. I felt the air filter (mine has a chrome ring around the top) and it was really cold. I continued to feel around the airbox, fusebox, as well as the strut bar...they were all cold.
My conclusion: As long as your car is in motion (2MPH), outside air will draw into the engine through the grill and air scoop. Even at a stop, the intake should be pulling in decent air. When you shut off your car and let it sit for 10 minutes or so; the engine bay, along with the strut bar and air filter, will get very hot. I encourage you to try it yourself.
Another test you could do is run a hair dryer through the air scoop and feel the other end. Air flows pretty well through there.
