I haven't seen a lot about them on these forums....the Koni's are a bit out of my price range, and I haven't heard too much good stuff about the Tokicos. I also have NO clue what springs to get. I want a good drop....my friend Josh (Maxdriver847) has eibachs/Tokicos...and I really think they could be a little lower...would I be dumb to go with sprint springs or apex??

I don't have them on my 4th gen but I have them on my 3rd gen fronts. Also had them on a Chrysler a while back. They're quite stiff (they use a high pressure gas charge) and seem to work pretty good. However, all the applications that I've used them for have been stock height stock spring vehicles.
They're good if you're looking for an aggressive ride (sometimes slightly harsh) as they're stiff. Should be able to control stiffer springs fine.

i have pretty much the setup ur thinking about. the apexs drop the car by about 1.6". and its combo with the gr2 is really good. ride is not very stiff, but u will feel a lot of the road! like i said before, i think this combo is just right. if ur coming to maxus, u could prolly check it out there. peace.

I'm starting to not like my Tokicos. How is the rebound damping with the KYB's? With the Toks, when you hit a big bump, the car bounces up off the bump, instead of just soaking it up. Do the GR-2s do that, or do they keep the car down and controlled over bumps?
Thanks.

from my experience with them, they pretty much make sure my car doesnt fly off the road. also since i started using them i know that unless i do about 100 mph on a bump, the car will stay glued to the road. only drawback for me is that i have the 16" rims... bigger tires and forget it... the car is not going anywhere! u will still be in control of the car and no fish tailing or nothing when going over bumps. i'd definitely recommend the gr-2's to anyone who may be interested.

I just had H&R's and KYB GR-2's installed a few weeks ago. I'm really satified with it. It rides better than it did before (my struts were dead though so it was pretty rough). The combo soaks up small bumps pretty well but of course large bumps and potholes are rough and tough, but they were before too. I got the KYB's for $259 at www.shox.com.

I have KYBs with Ground Control coilovers. They are matched pretty well to my spring rate, but a tiny bit underdamped on rebound. Remember however that the GC springs are basically the stiffest springs you can get for the maxima (you can get any rate you want, I got 450 from 325 rear). They require a little bit of grinding if you are going to use GC coilover sleeves with them, literally took me about 5 minutes each in the front. The rears dont require any grinding. If you are going to be using normal lowering springs and not coilovers, they wont require any modification. I also had these on my civic, and I was happy with them then, and I am happy with them now.
