I have several questions for guys who SCed their auto max.

1. What are your track times and dyno numbers?

2. Did you have any major problems with installation?

3. How's your auto tranny holding up?

4. If you were given a second chance to install a SC, would you do it again?

5. What other mods did you have to get, except for VB and tranny cooler?

I'm considering a SC for my car so I need to know all pros and cons.

Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy!!

1. Track times...not yet.
Dyno #'s: 230 FWHP (doesn't include y-pipe, rt-cat, soon to be installed smaller pulley, and custom CAI)

2. I didn't do the install...the infamous Stillen did.

3. Tranny is doing fine.

4. I'll leave it to the boys.

5. Just VB and tranny cooler for now. We'll see what happens after the smaller pulley. hehe

There are lots of pros and cons to having a s/c'er. I could write a novel about it. Email me if you have any more questions.

Jane, thanks a lot for the info. I might have some questions for you later if you don't mind

Greg, yeah I feel the need for boost. So now I'm saving up for SC kit, VB and a Y-pipe.

Good time, then maybe we can do even faster in the next caravan. BTW, both of your cars are very clean, look good.

Thank you, but still, nothing can beat a max with a body kit

Oh and then I bet there'll be only 4 cars in a caravan, you, me, Mike and Steve...unless Deezo gets some boost too

Ha! If Deezo puts the baby seat back in, he'll be able to keep up with us. Maybe, next summers Liberty Stat Park meet (if there is one) we'll all be boosted.

Sure. How cool would that be?! Stock 15# GXE Hubcaps, stock suspension, etc. But lurking under the ultra rare paint job is the ultimate Maxima sleeper. Sorry, I'm getting a little carried away.

If you put a SC on an auto max, is it a must to also get the VB upgrade, or can that wait a month or so? I need to know cuz my SC is in the mail.

VB

So how does that VB deal work? I take it out of my tranny, send it to Don and he sends me someone else's upgraded VB or he sends mine back?
Cuz I'm not sure if I want someone else's parts with unknown mileage and level of abuse.

Don has cores for 4th gens and I believe you could send yours in to have it recalibrated.

I know what you mean Andy, that's why I had Don recal my VB.

Thanks for the info. I talked to Don and he said if I overnight my VB to him(aprox. $40) he will do the mod and overnight it back to me(another $40) plus the $450 for the VB. But that way I wont have to wait for the core program and I will only be out of comission for a day.
