I start the car today and the key stuck in the start position for 5-10 sec. I turn it back and the enging shut off. Then there was no power for a while till I jiggle the the key and the power came back up. When I start I only heard clicking nosie and the power was lost again. What could be wrong? need help please!
Thanks, mip

If the key sticks in the start position you have a problem with the ignition lock. Perhaps lubrication will restore it. Use a graphited lock lubricant for this job. I like WD-40 and use it for many purposes but it is not the right product for this job.

If lubrication does not free up the lock mechanism you will have to replace it.

When the ignition lock is working properly you will be able to evaluate the condition of the entire electrical system.

If the ignition lock is the problem >>

it's usually due to excessive wieght on the ignition lock mechanism. This can be traced to the fact that a lot of owners like to have all sorts of gadgets and tools on their key chain. The only thing one should have with the ignition key set is the keyless entry fob and perhaps a key for a steering wheel lock.
