noise at start-up
#1
1995 with 66k miles makes a bump-bump-bump noise at slow ground speeds (backing out of garage primarily). The noise does not change with increased ground speed. In fact, it disappears above about 5 mph. I've looked for loose suspension and steering rack components and can't find any. It sounds like a tire out of round but I have rotated and replaced the tires. Any thoughts of where else to look?

Check that all of your exhaust's rubber bushings are intact and attached to both the car and exhaust. One time at band camp - I backed up and hit the exhaust pipe - no prob. A few days later though,I started hearing a noise. I finally got under the car and found that I had knocked one of these rubber mounts off. I re-attached it and the noise was gone. Hope it's that simple for you.
