I needed to move my car back a few feet today so I hopped in, started it up and right as I let go of the key I shifted into reverse. I usually wait a few seconds before shifting but I was in a hurry tonight. Then the engine revved low and it sounded like it was about to die. I put it in park and it sounded fine, back into reverse and it did it again but not as bad. It didn't die but it is worrying me. I will start it up again tomorrow and see whats going on. I have no engine mods. Is anything wrong with my car?

I went out this morning and started it up and it immediately started doing the same thing. I cut it off immediately because it didn't sound good and then tried to crank it again. It took it a while but it finally started and the problem was still there. I revved it a few times and now its normal. Hopefully I will never see it again.

The air filter is brand new. I did have the airbox open to install my new cone intake until I realized I didn't have an adapter. DOH! Could I have done something in there? When you say check your fuel filter, does that just mean replace it or can I look at it and tell? I will also check the tranny fluid. Thats for the ideas! I have driven it a few times today and haven't had any more problems.

Bad News
Yo guys...this thing happened to me a couple months ago...i would drive to school and then tried to go into reverse and it would stall...in order to pull out of the spot i had to rev like crazy...(i have an auto)...so i turned it into the dealer and OH SO FORTUNATLY it was under 60,000 miles so it was under warrenty...they put in a new trans...gave it back and the next day...same prob...then they put in a new computer...(ECU???)...same prob...they were ready to fly a "maxima repair expert from the west coast" cause i totally stumped them...so the guy was leaning on the car and i guess tugged something and it stalled...turns out there was a frayed wire in the fire wall that every time it hit the wall it shorted the computer and made the trans want to shift into every possible gear (sounds funny in know)...so they fixed the wire and that was that...again...fortunatly it was under warrenty cause if i was over then the new trans and comp would have cost me over 6,000 bucks...yikes...anyway...hope this helps
