Well, it's been 7 years since the Bose CD player in my car was new, and it's gotten good use since then. As of now, I have to put a CD in about eight times for it to finally work, if it ever does. It's pretty much a radio right now, and I'm starting to go into trauma without driving to the DMB...I gotta change this headunit. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on aftermarket CD/AM/FM receivers, and also, if there's any problems with running the new head unit with factory speakers. Thanks in advance!

kenwood

as long as you buy the adapter with a new head unit when you replace the bose, you are all set. i was going to replace my speakers too, but after just adding a sub, the BOSE sounds pretty good with my kenwood x617. i wish the face was motorized, but i got it for $225 new, and i love it. i set it so it knows what size and how many subs i have, and speaker size, and WOW, it really makes a difference. if you are looking to spend more, get something higher up in the kenwood line, i dont think you can go wrong. good luck

If it is a respectable car audio shop they should know exactly what you are talking about. I replaced my OEM stereo(non-bose) and my shop knew about the differnt ant. hook up. I wouldn't have found out about that until I installed it,and by then that would have ****ed me off.
