i posted this in the audio section too but there are more people looking at this section than that one so heres the deal. this is a thread for those of you who have had their sytems tested and know the decibels they produced and what components make up your system. (ok that sentence sucked) but any way since i started it i guess ill post mine first:

Sony eXplode CDX7000X head unit
Sony eXplode 6.5's 3 ways all around
Directed 250D amp
2 Audiobahn AWC12's
148.6 db as tested at Sound Drag Nat's In Atlanta 2001 with a Lanzar Vibe 240 amp (for sale if interested)
150.3 db as tested at the same event with Directed 250D

Well thats the benchmark, i'll be surprised if someone beats that, so surprise me ( no bull sh*t numbers please)

Sound

Okay this was not in a max mainly because you could never fit it in but I used to know a kid who had this setup in a GMC Jimmie. Four 20" ( or was it 21"?) JL Audio Subs. They were hidden under a raised florr in the back. Then he had some Rockfor Fosgates that were like 800 Watts a piece each running to their own sub. Following that was an extra battery and a 3F block fior the extra juice, and man it needed it.) From there he had really high end Infinity speakers for the higher sounds not just bass. He had 2 6x9's in the back two up front and some really nice tweeters. I forget who made them though. Also in the kick panels were two more subs to give your feet a boost. I think he may have had some more smaller like 4" round infinitys mid truck also to clear out the sound some more. To handle all the bass thoguh he had the glass taken out of the windows and put in plexiglass. This truck rocked. Not only was it huge in bass but with the Inifnitys and tweeters it had a really great sound to it also. He also did some worl on the truck that took out the 305 and replaced it with a 350 for some more power. Along with that was nice exhaust, tinted windows, new black paint job ( the previous owner did it) and some more power mods. He ended up not payiong for most of the speaker stuff anyway because he did some computer stuf for a guy who owned a sound shop and would pay him with equipment instead of cash so he made out pretty good on this deal.

I put in a Blaupunkt head unit (Honolulu cd player with flip down face) and the 5-disc changer right underneath it. Every place I called said it couldn't be done in a Maxima so I took it as a challenge. Since I was doing that I put a Mobile Authority amp under the passenger seat and Pioneer speakers all around. It sounds pretty good and looks tight but I have no idea what the dBs are. Sorry.

I hit 135.6 DB's at the Circut City DB Drag competition in Long Island last Sunday. That's pretty good considering what I have. People who saw my car at LSP know what I'm talkin bout.

NOPE! but i wouldn't think it would be very high>>>>Db's or decibles are a unit of measurement for SPL sound pressure level....and the stock bose isn't puttin out much pressure...

i want to see if i can sqweeeeeze a 15" Kicker Solo Baric L7 Square in my trunk with a Lightning Audio S1.1000 amp and see what kind of DB i get at the next sound competition.

On my 135.6 run, I was pushing,
Two 12" Lightning Audio Storm SVC Subs
A Lightning Audio Storm S1.600 Amp on a 4ohm load
A 1 Farad Capacitor

God I love that amp. I popped one of my Rockford HE2's with it. One thing you have to love about the amp is the **** to the +18db juice boost. Now if I was to temporarily put in a third Lighting sub in the trunk, it would drop the resistance down to 2ohm and those sub will all hit hard as hell.

Maxima:
2 Memphis Studio 12s
1 Memphis 400 PB amp
1 Memphis 2 way crossover
4 Memphis 6 1/2 (in doors)
2 Focal Tweeters (and stock tweets)
Homemade sealed box

95 Nissan Pickup:
6 Memphis HP 12s
3 Memphis 1000 watt Ds
1 Memphis 3 way crossover
4 focal tweets
4 Memphis 8s (in doors)
Custom homemade sealed box (woofer box sets in a plywood box that is waterproofed)
boxes ported to the cab
stock bench seat took out and put in 2 leather bucket seats
port is between them

There is a bed cover just so you know that rain or nothing else can get in. Everything is turned down just about all the way until a competition because of pain.
