so whats the best technique for launching a 5-speed i heard someone to rev it to like 1800 or 2000 rpms then drop the clutch in, now are you literally suppose to drop it or not, any other tips?

that's pretty much how i launch my car..at 1,500 rpms i don't drop the clutch though..i sorta release it very quickly while balancing it out with full throttle. i don't think i ride the clutch all that much though come to think of it.

I have tried many different ways and found that revving to about 4500-5000 and feathering the clutch out to the best. It takes some practice but if you can get it down the car launchs really hard. You might not want to rev so high but i'm able to because i live up in Colorado and the elevation is so high but you should be able to rev to atleast 3500-4000.
