Well...I dropped my car off to my buddies shop on Wednesday to have the clutch, flywheel, motor mounts, underdrive pulley, y-pipe and short throw shifter installed...and two days later still not done...but they say today is should be done. I guess the worst part is that the guy that was susposed to work on it was out sick the past two days..grrrrrrr...oh well, my vent session is over...

Any time away from the max kinda blows. Some people might say that you should install at least some of that stuff yourself, but personally, if I had a mechanic that I knew did good work, I'd do the same as you.

Just sucks that he managed to be sick when it was your maxi's turn to get worked on. That is a fair amount of work, and it could always be worse.

Down time always sucks... But you appreciate your car that much more when it is running.

For me the satisfaction from doing my own work is GREAT!!! Sometimes you end up spending more money (new tools, etc...) BUT you know your car inside and out, top to bottom! AND you can say "I did the work."

Add this to the long list headed Reasons why I should do my own "wrenching".

I love doing the work myself, I just don't have the tools or time to do it anymore...maybe when my house is done...

Giving you a hard time...

I still rent but when I was looking for a new apartment having a place to work on my car was a requirement!

Time is limited so spend it doing what you love.(whatever it may be)

Even though I like to do the work when I can that seemed like a good size list. Times like that if you can just get it in an out with everything done sometimes is musch easier than trying to fit it nito a tight weeked or running around for parts tool etc.

Well, if I was doing that all myself it would take me at least 2 weeks Hehehehehe.... Maybe more! And it would never run the same

That's run better of course
And the gal would probably threaten to leave me saying something like "You spend more time with your car than me!" Which is a lie of course. Its 50/50 Hehehe
