Please take a gander at the sticky in the top of this forum and make knowledge your anti-drug.

Seriously, we're starting to get some real good info to where we can at least make informed generalizations.

Most importantly, I'm being proved somewhat wrong about my general contention that "3k is a waste of money". I'm sure the Jiffy Lube lovers will eat that up.

It's looking as if oil choice/interval is not the most important issue; rather, the oil FILTER choice/interval looks to be more important mainly for those who don't drive their cars high mileage, or make mostly frequent short trips. It's not really that surprising, just good to have actual data to back it up.

A special thanks to all members who have participated, especially the additions of dot org members RussMaxManiac, TimW, and Tick Tock. We now have analyses from 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen Maximas, as well as an "evil" TL and "the grandma" Grand Marquis with a V-8 representing the domestics.....
