All you guys out there that drive autos...can you provide any tips for racing an auto, street racing and at the track, getting a good launch and other tips? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Do a search! But heres how I do it: Shift into First. Hold the brake with your left foot(press hard) and rev up engine with right foot to 1600 rpms with stock tires, around 2000 with aftermarket performance ones. When the last yellow on the tree turns let off the brake and hammer the gas. Shift from first into 2nd at 6200 rpm, it takes the tranny a little to actually shift and this should make it shift at redline. Then in 2nd shift into 3rd at 6300 rpm, for the same reason as above. Dont worry about overdrive, it doesnt matter if it is inguaged or not, but I personaly leave it disenguaged since it will help the car slow down if it stays in 3rd when you are in the traps. By doing what I have told you above I have gotten my reaction time down to a consistant .500. If someone tells you not to shift and to just leave it in Drive they are nuts, I have done it many different ways and have gotten the fastest times doing what I just explainded to you. If you leave it in Drive it will shift around 6200 rpms, not very good. For the fastest times do exactly as I have stated.

street racing

For street racing and on hilly curves, drive your auto like a stick! keep the car in 1st gear until you need to surpass 43mph, then u shift to second. You probably won't need to shift past second because it'll reach 80mph at redline. Its good to leave the shifter in 1 or 2 during curvy races because the large gears help slow down the vehicle quickly once you let go of the throttle. Anyhow.. I still wish i had a stick.. =*(**
