I need to build my engine or race prep it. Some of you have internal and or built motors. I need to know where and who you guys got the pasts from. Also the costs. I need pistons, rods, crankshaft (forged), and camshafts/cam gears if they have them. If anyone has a bored engine please tell me who did the work and what is it bored to. I want to bore mine to a 3.5L but willing to keep it as a 3.0L if I have to. Last thing, has anyone reinforced the block or gotten thicker headgaskets. Any info will be very helpful. Post or e-mail. furbiss112@aol.com. Hell even call me. (847) 858-3038. Thanks.

Uhh... you really shouldn't post up your telephone number.

There are a lot of people who read these boards... and not all of them are Maxima owners and not all of them have the best intentions in mind.

I hope you are willing to spend $6000+ and deal with a car that may have a lot of problems. I only say this because there are people who post things like this who just want to see what others may think and not have the $$$ to back up their big plans.

you dont need to get another crank, The factory crank, in most imports is a very strong unit so there is no need to upgrade there. If you like you can have the crank knife edged but there are issues with durability in that. I have pistons/rods/cams/valve springs and retainers all in my built motor. Also an O-ringed block and gasket. ALot of these companies have applications for the VQ motor now as a resort from me paying for the startup costs.
