Changing from dino to synthetic

My wife recently purchased a '97 SE with 75,000 miles.Does it have too many miles to switch from dino oil to synthetic???

It is never to late to change to synthetic. Also, I would like to point you to this sticky where is gives reason not to change your synthetic oil every 3k miles.

No. Try Mobil 1 10w-30 and monitor the oil usage. If it's more than about 1 qt for 3000 miles, I would just continue to use regular dino oil.

About how many quarts of oil do I need to change my oil? I have never done it before but would like to start doing it myself.

With a filter change, 4 1/2 quarts.

Yes, I am planning on running full synthetic here in about a week...I am going to change the crankcase and tranny to synthetic as I know from experience it is worth it to me in the end. If your engine is mechanically sound, use a quality engine flush prior to changing oil and then change again at about 5000 to full synthetic again to get rid of most all residue.
