I went to Englishtown Raceway park Wed night...prior I had removed the front seat, back and bottom rear cushions, spare and jack...all that good stuff. Then I go to the gas station to fill my rear tires a little...when the guy working there comes up to me and asks..."were did all your seats go?" I told him I lost them , then I told him I removed them because I was going to the dragstrip...he says..."In this thing?!!?!" Obviously an idiot...
I eventually got to the track a lot later that I was planning and it was sooo crowded, the guy at the booth said I was garenteed 1 run.....1 run!..you gotta be kidding me, I was so ****ed!, I decided to not waste $20 on 1 run, so I decided just to watch the races...It was basically a honda civic convention, some running low 14's, prob had NOS......there was a couple of WRX's there, running high to mid 14's....however one ran a 12.7...very impressive...

 

Why does everyone have other imports at the strips they go to? I was at Route 66 raceway near Chicago yesterday with MAX2000JP...and the ONLY two imports that were there we're his car, and an Eclipse. EVERYTHING else was domestic.

 

1 run?? That sucks. I havent gotten lass than 12 for my $10 yet, and I only stay for 2 hours because that's when the line starts up. Literally, no line in the staging lanes from 6:30 till about 8:00. Then as soon as I have to wait behind 5 cars, I go home.

 

Everytime I go to Etown, NJ there is always a fair share of imports...however not too many max's if any, ever...

 

I ran a horrible 16.0 goin 89.5 mph...What am I doing wrong ??

what was your 60' time? what RPM's did you shift at? I assume you were at Etown...

Check the Northeast forum. Sometimes we have posts on mini-meets at E-town. The drag scene should die down a bit when mid-end Sept. rolls around. You'd get more runs in then Better to run at cooler conditions anyway.

 

Wow you must have gotten there late or something. When i go Wed & Fri nights, i am always guaranteed 3 runs. I always get there (or try) around 5:30. By 6:30 comes everyone gets there and its packed. The earlier the better. If you thought Weds nights are bad.. go on a Friday night.

Matty-Your trap speeds are up but your time can be faster. Are you launching your car? What are your 60ft times? Do you spin a lot? I launch @ 1500rpms in my auto and i have 2.31 60ft times.

 

My 60' time was 2.9 can be alot lower...and I didnt shift out of 1st at redline either...I should have gone all the way up...I launched at like 1400rpms...and got alittle wheel spin but not bad at all

Im goin again on wed and fri and see if I can get something different and better...I just dont know why I was goin so fast and got a cr** a** 1/4 time ??

I launch at around 3500.I get about 15 ft of spining.
At lebanon valley last saturday there were about 5 imports ,nothing but domestic .
