The remote trunk release on my 98 SE doesn't work. It Clicks LOUDLY, but doesn't release. Is this a common problem? Perhaps with an easy solution other than just greasing it (tried that).

Thanks in advance.

PS... just got this car a little while ago... finally realize why everyone loves em so much.

Isnt there a switch inside that lets you pick it is is only openable by the key? Or do I have this idea backwards? Try checking that out I think it is right in the front of the trunk.

Read your Owner's Manual. Learn about the Trunk Cancel Lever. If the lever is in the Cancel position the trunk lid can be opened only with the key.
