I just performed the compression test today using a $25 guage bought at Sears. Here are the numbers reading from left to right starting at the front bank:
#1-205 #2-210 #3-215 #4-220 #5-210 #6-210

Those are pretty high numbers and diff between lowest and highest is 15. My car has ~92k miles with 90% of it is highway and it's a 99. The only reason I could think of these high numbers is may be I didn't warm the engine enough?

I drove it for 4 miles in the city prior to testing. Removed all plugs as suggested. I made sure the TB butterfly is open by depressing the gas pedal all the way while cranking. Took about 10-11 cranks before the needle stops going up. Any ideas?

You are the second person to get unrealistically high numbers from a 'broken in' engine. DMBMaxima88 also got numbers over 200. What guages are you all using?

I saw the numbers from DMBMaxima88 and they're high but mine are even higher. I bought the guage from Sears, has Sears branded on it.
The other thing I forgot to mention is that I pulled the fuel pump fuse right before the first test as suggested. May be I should've pull the fuse earlier and crank it a couple of times before the actual tests? These high numbers COULD be a result of carbon deposites in the engine as suggested in the Haynes manual but what could cause this?
