My 96 Se engine with 46K miles makes harmonious sounds when cold or when AC is on!. Is this because of more oxygen in fuel mixture?. Do I have better power then?

What exactly do you mean by harmonious sounds?

I think I know what you're talking about. my max sometimes makes a whine/whistle, whatever you want to call it with the AC on. as far as I know it's normal. but I can't imagine having better power with the AC on. I think the opposite is true.

Do you happen to have an aftermarket audio system?

To my knowledge, it is the a/c compressor. It is normal. When you hear the noise, turn off your a/c and it should stop. If it does, then it is the a/c compressor. Mine does it. Sounds annoying, but oh well, the price you have to pay for a/c.

I also hear this whistle when the engine is cold or if it is cold outside.

sounds like bad ground...
I had same problem though.
Is the sound increases as your RPM increasing?
Is the sound only can heard when you turn on the radio + AC?
