how to take off rear emblem?

How do you take those things off? What's the easiest way w/o messing up the paint? After seeing some at the meet, I liked how it looked

dental floss and fishing line. then use some bug n tar remover to get the extra gunk off. remember to wash and rewax the area after doing so.

A hairdryer set on high.

blast it directly on the emblem itself one letter at a time. You can get it hotter by covering the back of the dryer and releasing it. Then use dental floss and wd40 to remove the gunk. enjoy! =)

Removing Emblems >>>>>

I used a spray from 3M "General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner part No. 08987"
Got it from a local paint store. I first soaked the emblems, then just twist and remove. It was that easy. Then a little extra spray and a rag to clean whatever glue was left.
A little wax will return the shine to your Max.
It took me about 10min to do this. And it looks great, no scratches or marks.

use a credit card and some lube so u dont scratch the paint..

I did mine at the powerwash. While I was cleaning the back of my Max, I just got real close to the emblem, and it popped right off! Then I used some nail polish remover to get the glue off. Waxed it and voila!

I used a screw driver with masking tape wrapper around the end to get all the emblems off my trunk. then I used an eraser wheel. then waxed the area the eraser wheel was used on.

i'm shaving the burger off. the MAXIMA looks good. otherwise a whole shaved **** looks like the car was mickey moused at the body shop.

SE emblems should come off same way.

By the way, nail polish remover would not be recommended by me. One key ingredient that I like to keep away from my paint: acetone...

i agree, i want to paint mine black. but what the best way to do this? i want to remove the emblem and spary paint it for a more even look. but i think painting the emblem while its still on the trunk will be easier. but i really dont wanna see any paint brush streaks.
