to those with koni/sprint please help!
i installed my suspension about 1 month and a 1/2 ago.from the begining i noticed a wierd sreeching sound when i go over speed bumps or hit minor pot holes.it only makes the noise on some types of bumps in the road.2 days ago i painted my calipers. now i noticed on the front driver side when i go over any type of road bumps i hear a sound like not exactly knocking but like in going over a man whole type of sound.
i dont get it i checked all the bolts on the strut assembly they seem to be tight i dont know what the problem is.is anyone expieriencing this type of problems? any solutions any info will help thankyou..

it's most likely the bolt that hold the koni insert in on the bottom on the strut assembly. I had that same exact problem.....I used the washers that it came with, and it was still loose.....I hope you used the washers.

damn i didnt check that bolt on the bottom of the strut.now i have to remove the whole thing now.yes i did use the washers but it may still be loose.so what did you do to tighten the bolt by the way?? thank for the responce..
Re: strut assembly
When NS first brought up the issue of a possibly loose bolt holding the Koni inserts, I think we all checked! Just turn the wheel when checking each side. Use an open-ended wrench to tighten. You don't have to disassemble the springs/struts (you don't want to or face another alignment). If you want more room, just jack the car and remove the tires.

thats very true i can just turn the tire out of the way and try to tighten it then.i probably would of realized i didnt have to remove the whole strut to tighten that once i get a look at it

I used a socket. I wasted 4 hours because I took the suspension apart, when it just needed to be tightened.
hey ns i checked that bolt that holds down the insert and what do you know. it was so loose' that from a litte more vibration from those damn pot holes and it would have fallen off.well good thing i caught it on time.i just used an adjustable wrench and tightened that right up.
no more noise problem solved
..nick thatt sucks that you had to take the whole strut assembly out.at least for future references you know you can just either turn the wheel out of the way or take it off.by the way if it loosened once it will do it again how did you get yours to stay?OR did you just retighten it.

yeah we have to keep that in mind.there has to be some type of lock nut that will hold that bolt tight.well you know its not that big of a deal if we have to retighten it once in a blue it only takes a min
later..
later..
