yes
if you are using serious mods on the car like NOS, a VB upgrade might save you good $ in the long run. If not that, then get a tranny cooler for 50$ or so. Then I'd suggest a Y-pipe and the rest on misc. cosmetic mods like lights, (maybe real HIDs), clear tails, grilles, front lip, or maybe the entire body kit...... If not all that, then you can do some stereo upgrades if you don't have any yet....

Re: vb mod
I'm pretty sure it's a core swap, no down time required. However, Don is backordered pretty bad right now I think and is having trouble making them fast enough to keep up with demand.

Yes, I'm the one that waited on the kit forever. It finally showed up after 6 weeks and it's a piece of ****. Really bad fitment and quality. I may have to spend $800 to mold it onto the car because the fitment is so off. Having said that, it will look good.

It's supposed to line up with the holes, for some reason mine didn't. The side skirts are ok, but the bumpers don't fit well at all. On the front, it's about 2" too wide so the shop has to bend the fenders to get them to fit. And the kit is 1/8" too short so a lot of the holes don't line up. On the sides of the bumper, most of the mounting holes work, but on the top, only like 2 out of 6 holes will work.

why didnt you just send it back letting them (serona) know the kit is a bad fit. it supposed to be a direct replacement i hope you are not paying extra to have it molded on.you should'nt have to go through that.see what you can do.

Re: sarona kit
Because it's a body kit and these things happen, it's why they tell you professional install required. A lot of fiberglass body kits don't fit, they should, but they don't. It's one of those things that you just have to deal with, doesn't make me any happier obviously, but it's how it is. No body kit company will take back a kit that doesn't fit. If it's broken, maybe, but not due to fitment problems. It's just when you pay this much for a kit, you expect better.

Re: Re: sarona kit
Just so you know, the body kit doesn't weigh any more than the factory bumpers do. Fiberglass is light, and it's a direct replacement.

Ahhh....kids.
The Valve Body upgrade is for auto's ONLY. They take out a part of your transmission known as the "Valve Body". They upgrade some parts in it. What this does is allow TIGHTER, FASTER, FIRMER, CRISPER, shifts which increase speed times slightly.
It also eliminates crappy downshifting that our stock trannies have. That means no more starting off in 3rd gear from a rolling stop. Isn't that great ?
One more thing. The VB upgrade is supposed to allow your transmission a longer life becuase it elimenates some burning of the tranny due to your tranny trying to find the next year. (or somethin like that)
It's no 5spd, but it's definatally an upgrade to our automagic.

Take it easy.
The average home mechanic can change the VB with regular tools. Check www.mobiletek.net or www.levelten.com for more information.
BTW, $1000 for install !? Where did you get that one!? I can purchase a VB Upgrade locally from AAMCO and have them do all the installation for 180 bucks. Parts+Labor.
Dude if your paying 1G for even the VB itself + labor your getting beyond screwed.

I went to the Level 10 site and read one of the articles. They had an open Supra TT tranny, and damn, I can't see how someone could come up with something that looks like a maze and has two dozen floating ***** inside of it...I can barely figure out how a manual works, let alone an auto. I can see why they an automatic cost more than a manual (Unless it's a BMW 540i with Sport package).

VB Upgrade & 800 bucks to....
KiLIAkLoWn, it's a trans-go kit, that's why its soo cheap. But it's locally done and the 180 covers everything. Not to bad huh.
**If I had 800 bucks, I'd buy a complete 5spd manual transmission, save up a few more hundred to covor labor, and go for a swap. You know how much of that lovely torque you get from shifting into second/first gear ?? It's like a better version of that throughout the gears. Torrrrqqueee..MmMmMmMmMmMmMm
But, If you must stay an automagic, I'd contact Kirk (1/3there2/3togo) He made his own custom dual exhaust system using a V-Force Camaro exhaust and catback system. And for only $215. Pretty unusually freakn sweet, eh?
