OK¡¦ this is POLARG M-6 168type 18W bulbs.
It¡¯s about three times bigger than 194 3.5W bulbs however the base is the same.
I've heard people use 168 on his/her max and I was wondering about this bulbs...

I'm worrying about burning my instrument wires or damage the gauges due to the extra power & heat from these bulbs.
It¡¯s big and I must open then whole gauge unit and must drop it from the inside.
Please let me know whether this is a safe Mod to max or not.
Thank you.

18w... wow ...

that does sound a little risky. You might melt... well... something. And melting anything near/in your gauge cluster is not a good thing.

Try some white LEDs and see if you like those.

Nooooo! I'm not talking about 194 5W xeon here.
I'm talking about 168 18W!
I've searched the forum and those are 5W 168 and it's like 194.
I'm talking about pure over sized 18W Xeon bulbs here!!
Imagine! 5-18W of bulbs in your dash vs 5-3.5W!
That's 90W of power!!!!

Come on guys! tell me itz safe and let me know anyone tried it before!!!!

Like we all said before it's risky and you are liable to melt something. But it seems like you've made up your mind to do it. You'll probably go through fuse after fuse and bulb after bulb. If you don't melt something first. Gauge clusters are not cheap and it's the price of a gauge cluster vs. price of some bulbs. Try it and let us know what you've melted!
