Hi, I have a problem with the Bose cd player in my 95 Maxima. It is the double deck cassette cd combo. When it plays a cd it seems to start off ok, but after a while it stops playing and says there is an error. After it gives the error, it is impossible to start it playing again that same cd or any others unless the cd player is turned off for a few minutes. When you put the cd in after it starts giving an error, it seems to be trying to scan it, but still gives an error. This includes CDrs and regular cds, it does this to all of them. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks
Eugene

First try getting a laser lens cleaning disk, usually betwen 10 and 15 bucks at any music store. Next make sure the cds aren't scratched or dirty. If neither of these work let me know, you may have to take the deck out to have it fixed.

Good luck

This happens to me too.
Don't FORCE the CD in there..
the laser can be damaged really harshly if you keep forcing it to read the bad CD.
I am predicting that you are using a "burned" cd.
I use them too.
If it doesn't work, play the radio for few days or so, and put in a "RETAIL" CD in, it should work..
if it doesn't wait more.
After retail CD starts working, after few days, you can put in back those Burned CDs.
And also, laser can be damaged by sudden power shut down.
Ex: turning off your engine without turning the CD player off.
so becareful when you do that.
always turn it on and off.

If this doesn't help.. guys will help you with other instructions.

Something with BOSE?

Alot of times people have problems on here with BOSe radios? Is it somethign with these types in particular or just coincidence? I suppose when you got 4000 people on here your gonna see the same ones over and over anyhow but just curious.

Mine happened with a normal audio CD

My experience has been that the HEAT in the car causes this. Its always been with ordinary audio CDs. You get the car cool enough inside and it works again. I had heard that the Bose CD player I have was made by Clarion and not all that high quality.

well, you guys should get a 6 cd changer to fix that problem, that's what I did, I mean, obviously its not as nice as the deck cd player but it does its job, and its nice not having to change the cd's, you have all 6 of them

here's the link where you can get 'em, or just e-mail me
