How many notches did you take off of the bumb stop? Also, where can I get replacement dust boots for my struts?

I cut one notch. I got general purpose boots for $5 each at an off road truck supply place.

I cut mine in half.

I can't remember how many notches that is. Some times I feel it needs more.

you guys cut your sprint springs????? i didnt think that there was a strut that could handle the cut spring....if therer is i would liek to find out to slam my maxima!!

I've always heard cutting springs is a bad thing. I guess it's just a matter of opinion though.

what is a bumpstop??? how much of my bumpstop would i need to cut to drop my car like 1 more inch?

This thread isnt about cutting springs. It's about cutting the bumpstops. I may try to take a little (.25" ?) more off mine.

The bumpstop is a small foam rubber piece that goes on the strut shaft. It protects the top of the strut from the strut cap when you hit large bumps. It won't lower the car any if you cut it, just makes the ride better when you put springs on because it will give you a little more travel before you hit it.

Yeah, same here. Where are those adjustable KYB's when you need them (and want them...really, really bad)?
