cornering bulb help
It's me again... and of course, I need help. Well, I hear a lot about cornering bulb rewiring, and before someone says to go to the search thing... Im looking for special instructions that I havn't been able to find. Something about cutting a nub and turning it around or something like that... but I have no idea what that means. I have a 96' gle... and I need EXACT instructions to making the corner bulbs brighter (or less yellowish). Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your time.
rewire
i rewired my corners in like...30 min (mostly reading)
there was alot of posts on here about it but i just got mine from www.maximadriver.com in the how2 section. very good instructions. It's a different procedure for the 97-99's but the 95/96 requires some soldering.
oh, change your bulbs to a hyper white if you get hyper white hedlight bulbs aight!!??

Here are the directions so that you do not have to rewire anything.
Your car is wired to run the 27 watt filament in that bulb.
First remove the corner light by lifting the hood and unscrew the phillips head screw that holds the light in. Now wiggle the light forward (towards you) and you will see that it is held on by two things. A plastic tab on the fender side of the lamp and a small ball and socket on the head light side. It is important to remove the plastic flap from behind the metal peice first. It should not break, just work with it. The use a little WD-40 on the ball and socket and wiggle that out. It will go back on even easier.
Now remove the bulb. On the metal part of the bulb you will see two knubs, one closer to the glass part than the other (other words higher up on the metal part) Take a sharp knife and gently saw that knub off.
Put the bulb back in backwards. You may not remember how the bulb came out. The 8 watt filament will still light up if the bulb is not backwards. Just turn it around. You will know when it is brighter.
