I need a new muffler.(mine's rusted through) I can't afford a catback so I'm leaning towards the twin tip DTM style. Later I can get a b-pipe. What are your guys thoughts...any pics? Oh yeah, I already did a search so don't tell me to do one again. Thanks.

dtm, facing upwards or just two tips that stick out? i dontlike the ones facing upwards too much but like the two tips that just stick out, not up. the only problem is the cutout of the original exhaust.

It's not that I particularly like it that mutch, it's just that for the price, my choices would be the DTM or one of those round ones with the 4in tip that all the hondas have. If anybody can suggest something better please do so. Thanks

I am personally not a big fan of the DTM tips facing up BUT I did see them on a max in NJ when I was home, first time I had seen it and it looked pretty good. I say go for it and be different.. could look amazing.

Sorry guys, one more question: if it's a straight through muffler, will it increase the noise by alot, with everything else stock?

nope, my magnaflow was straight through and i had barely any noise, but i am sure that the DTM style will have some growl..

naw man

if you have a 4th gen don't get a dual dtm because it won't fit right like nick said, the cutout is for a single tip, but if you have a 5th gen, then that would look tite, seen it around, pretty sporty, just my op.

I've seen a Cefiro (Japanese Maxima) with a DTM muffler and it doesnt look that bad, but a dual non slanted up one looks better. The Cefiro has a cutout for a dual tip muffler, If you want to go to the trouble maybe you could switch to a Cefiro rear or cut it out yourself

the apexi WS catback is only 300-400 so I would streach and get something that will make your car a little faster also.

DTM mufflers only look good on E30 and E36 BMWs.

*above = opinion*

My choice would be to have someone square off the bumper cutout and get AMG-style tips, 97MaxGurl has them and it looks really good.

I saw an all black Cefiro with nice fat rims like a benz with fat lips, and it was al black and had a dual tip muffler chromed out. it was one of the nicest looking cars I ever saw.
