tonight while I was at work.....i happened to be watching my car (since I put the 18x8.5 Enkei V1's and the sprints on ive had a lot of teenage lookey-lous..which makes me a tad nervous) and a couple kids had this to say

"when are you going to lower it?"
i was like
"it is, can't you tell"
they said
"thats all the lower it is..can you drop it more"
I said
"umm...i have springs...not coilovers."

friggin retards...I know the sprints are only a 2" drop...but come on...its pretty noticable...or am i mistaken? thoughts on this???

I get this all the time, don't sweat it. I'm down about 2" as well. Maximas have really huge wheelwells, so our wheels/tires don't tuck like a honda's do, even with oversized wheels. My own mother even said that looking at the wheelwells it doesn't look lowered, but if you look at the bottom of the car, especially in the rear, you can tell it's low. Maxima owners can tell a lowered maxima because we are aware of just how skyscraper-ish we are when they are stock. Other people don't know our cars that well.

compared to other cars that usually have the wheels flush with the fender, the maxima doesn't look lowered. But when you look at your maxima on a daily basis, it makes a difference.

So your saying that Eibach shocks and Tokico Springs would not be worth getting, if there only 1.2 front and 1.3 rear or something like that?

the maxima isn't meant to be slammed. People shouldn't be dissapointed that they can't get it to the ground.

Thats not a problem, I cant slam it now because I would definately not be getting inside my driveway.

Any thoughts on this? Sure. Learn to ignore remarks made by ignorant people.

For all of your life you will hear foolish criticisms made about your appearance, your clothing, your car, your job, your spouse, your house, etc. If you let these things bother you, you will get ulcers. Ignore them!

Mean-spirited remarks may be a thinly-veiled expression of envy. They don't have a car as nice as yours (maybe they don't have any car), and they feel better about themselves by making disparaging remarks about your car. Some people refer to this behavior as "Sour Grapes", the subject of one of the Aesop's Fables.

i get the same dumb-a$$ question all the time. People say "you should lower your car, it will look better" im like WTF! i have H&R springs with tokico struts. Like other have said the maximas have fairly large wheel wells and is hard to get that "tucked look like a civic would have" Iv been considering cutting my h&r springs to go lower to the street, but! that will cause alot more problems for me due to my front-lip, and soon to have full kit. So im not sure what i want to do.

my .o2

Yea, don't let it get to you. I have Intrax Springs and other Maxima drivers can tell its dropped, but of course the Honda drivers and everyone else just doesn't seem to realize how big the wheel wells are on a Max.

Got some lookee-loos at Dave & Buster's in San DIego last week before Street Scene and one of my buddies said they were standing there eye-ballin when he came up from behind and asked them if they wanted to talk to me...and they just scattered...who knows...
