Ran at Commerce last night..... ehhh I don't know what to think about the results.
Well I just got back from the tracks and all I can say is ehhh…. I don’t know things could have been better. I didn’t think that I did that well but maybe others will think differently on my times. I prepared my car for the races by getting the tire pressure setup at 30psi all around, taking out any miscellaneous junk, my jack, spare tire and tools. Now I was basically “race” ready. There were 3 things that I could think of that messed me up from the very beginning.
1. I fueled up before I left to go to the dragstrip thinking that I would burn most
of it up before I get there leaving me with ½ to ¼ a tank for racing. I guessed that my car got better fuel economy cruising on the streets than I suspected it to and I got up there with a FULL TANK! With no way to burn off the excess fuel I was forced to lug around more weight than I needed.
2. My tires were coming to the end of their treadlife with about 5,000 miles still left on them and ever worsening traction. I used to be able to do a quick scratch between shifts but now all I was doing was a longer chip.
3. My shocks are dead and buried. They are so gone and I know that I could have gotten a better launch if I had better shocks.
Given those conditions I was as ready to race as I ever would be today. The temperatures was in the mid 70’s with wind giving gusts up to about 22MPH and humidity at about 75 percent. We came up to the track and could see a storm front coming in the very near future but it did hold off from raining all the while I was up there for my 2 hours of racing.
I got times anywhere from 14.736 to 14.900, although I did pull off a 14.667 for my first run but it was a redlight at a .468 R/T. All in all my car runs pretty consistently in the range of 14.74x – 14.85x quarter mile times with the stock SC pulley. I really surprised myself w/ my reaction times as I remembered advise that I had heard before: Leave on the 3rd orange. No matter what RPM I left the line at it did not improve my 60ft times as they stayed pretty consistent. My car did some really good pre-launches to get the tires sticky b/c I couldn’t do any burnouts with my AT. I tried holding the emergency brake but that only dragged my tail so I let that go and did some rolling launches. It hooks pretty good from a 2-3MPH roll but from a standstill things get a bit more tricky. Launching from about 2,000RPM didn’t really do anything to help out but man did it put me back in my seat! My R/T was in the range of .543 to .653 so I was getting a good RT. My 60 ft times were consistently in the 2.35x’s (good, or bad?). Here are my timeslips since I don’t have a scanner: My ¼ MPH stayed in the range of 92-94MPH
Best run
R/T .612
60’ 2.333
330 6.335
1/8 9.542
MPH 77.72
1000 12.341
1/4 14.735
MPH 93.95
Worst run
R/T .634
60’ 2.354
330 6.409
1/8 9.662
MPH 78.12
1000 12.485
1/4 14.900
MPH 92.78
Messing around with the OD button on this one (took at lot longer to shift on me).
I did manage to beat a 2000 Lightning with upped boost but a SMZ 300ZTT did beat me by about a second. All in all I feel that I could have done better with better tires and a whole lot less gas. I think that a smaller pulley and a bigger FMU disk are defiantly my next mods but I don’t know what size would be best for my setup. Definitely have to try to cool down the air coming into the intake manifold (via intercooler, NOS injection, Aquamist water injection). Can someone tell me how much it cost them to have an intercooler and water injection put on their car (cost of parts and labor)?
Can anyone give some suggestions on what would be a good size pulley for my setup? How much does it cost to get the internals and TC done from Level10? What is the time turnaround and labor for doing the tranny?
Mods:
V1 Vortech supercharger kit with stock pulley
Custom Cold Air Intake
Cattman Performance y-pipe
RT 3” catalytic converter
Greddy cat-back exhaust
VB modification (Courtesy of MobileTek)
Tranny cooler
TIA for all your comments and feedback.

Answer
Previous best before the SC and modified valve body + tranny cooler was a 15.72 but it was normally running in the 16.0's
Why am I running 14's?
1. I have an AT with stock TC and tranny internals
2. I had a full tank of gas when doing the runs (extra 65lbs of dead weight I didn't need- 6.5lbs of weight per gallon of gas X 10 gallons)
3. My shocks and tires were shot
4. My SC pulley is stock

Im not really sure what the auto S/Cs are suppose to run. The auto S/C around me (E-Town) usually run 14.7's. I have not seen any better here.
You might want to go there with less gas.
Also, when i drag, i use my 15" steel rims. I usually run 22psi up front $ 35psi in the rear.
So you think you turning OD on & off made your tranny shift slower? All OD is nothing but your 4th gear. You wont even need that. I run 14.3's and i dont need it. I also have VB mod so i just leave it in "D".
Im sure with some more practice you will get better times. If not better time you wil at least run consistent times.

I think you should be in the low 14s easily. That full tank of gas didn't help. I ran a 15.5 at 89mph w/ypipe, cai, and cat-back exhaust. However, I also ran with a full tank of gas, and had crappy stock tires(i.e.no traction)on stock rims, which I didn't change the psi level either. I think I should be in the low 15s, if not high 14s if not for the two things I mentioned above. I manually shifted for all my runs though. If I left in Drive, I would have got even worse times.
