Maxima. And if it was a 5spd, it would be a waste of the Maxima's time.

But go Pontiac all the way if you want a cheep plastic interior, thin-lined seats, a fat azz, and quality american made engines !

Go Nissan (Maxima) if you want quality treated interior, comfortable, roomy seats, and the BEST V-6 engine 7 years in a row.

I think you've found your car.

Craig is incorrect. A GTP is going to smoke an auto maxima, and runs the same 0-60 and 1/4 as a well driven 5 speed maxima. Assuming both cars are stock, the auto maxima is absolutely going to lose. If you draw the race out to higher speeds, the maxima starts to gain back ground.

I'll take my Max over a "GTP" anyday.

That's not what he asked though. He was asking how a maxima would do against a grand prix. Not what car do you prefer.

I would never buy a GTP but I have to admit that they will take out my maxima inmost cases at the track... I have taken down a few but most will walk me... they are normally a low low 14 second car or high 13s after a couple minor mods...

As you venture out into the wonderful and vast world of automobiles, please, oh please don't consider speed only.

Go Maxima over Grand Prix. Do you want your car for 70,000 miles, or 260,000 miles ? I think i've made my point.

when I had my 97 GLE I raced against my friend's 2000 Grand Prix GT.. and lost by a car length to 60

I was under the impression that he was asking which car is faster. If I was under the wrong impression, forgive me. The GTP would waste an auto maxima in a race. I'd never buy a grand prix, especially over a maxima, I was just saying which car was faster.

Nealoc is exactly right, I raced a gtp, stock vs stock, I have a 96' auto and he whooped me to 100 by about 2 car lengths... givin that he had a 2000 and I had a 96, his car would still smoke a recent auto maxima with no mods. The better part of this story was when I raced him after I got my CAI, went to 80 and I was a car length ahead, so it doesn't take too much to put a max ahead, but stock vs stock would go to the gtp. In terms of style and class, the maxima is the ultimate, but speed is a different story.
