Shaved Lettering

I was just wondering why people shave thier MAXIMA letters and hamburger off the back of thier car. I know its supposed to give it a cleaner look but damn, I WANT people to know I drive a Maxima. Plus its something for them to read while they stare at the back of my car during a race.

I had my Nissan logo shaved off for 2 months and then go tired of the Maxima lettering so it had to go as well. I put it on my dash. IMO, it looks a lot cleaner w/out the emblems.

I guess the one who mod his car so much, shaving the letters just make people on the street wondering what's that car they saw. kinda of cool just to make people think for a while after seeing the car. I mean, so many people who have some mod experience don't even know there is such a car called Maxima or don't even know you can mod a family sedan. all they know is Mustang, civic, integra ........ and I used to be one of them.

yeah take some floss and a heatgun or hair dryer and heat it up take it off and wax the area where it used to be..

i took all the emblems off before i had any mods whatsoever.. i thought it was different from other maxes.. i have had like 5 people pull up next to me and ask "is that a maxima????" or "what kind of car is that???" its kinda cool..

pretty soon i am ditching that damned keyhole and antenna.. very clean look.. maybe get rid of those interior tails too.. we'll see, the keyhole and antenna cost about 450 to remove together..

Yeah just use a hair dryer to heat it up and then use some floss
or fishing line to remove it.
To get the adhesive off try using Goof-off.
You can get it at any hardware store.

Re: Re: Re: shaves emblems

Um shaving the keyhole is definitely not free. Shaving the letters is, but unless you know how to weld the keyhole shut, then bondo, then paint, it's not free. I got mine done when my whole car was being repainted, but normally it would be like $200+

How did you get rid of the key whole? Is it entirely gone or just hidden? Is it possible to use the key on it still?

When you "shave" the keyhole it is gone. BYE BYE.. cant ever use it again.. as shadow said, it is welded shut and then they put bondo over it and paint it, so you will never have that keyhole again..

check my attachment to see no keyhole or letters

Re: Re: shaves emblems

The keyhole is gone. They removed the locking mechanism, welded the hole shut, used bondo to even it out and then painted it. There is no keyhole at all there anymore, it's not just hidden.
