Tint???

Can tint adversly effect the track that holds the back windows in place. I've been told buy the dealer that i bought the car from that the tint has caused the track to warp so that it does not hold the window properly, causing it to shake with it down half way, while driving @ higher speeds(60 & up). I think there blaming the tint so they don't have to fix it under the extened warrenty. Has anyone here with tint had this problem with there back windows

that is total b.s. what the dealer is telling you.
the tint is only applied to the area of the glass that is visible and never come in contact with the tracks or anything else except for the piece of weather stripping on the inside of the glass (which is a non moving part which is soft & flexible)

i have never heard of tint on a window to cause problems. i think you should tell the dealer he's full of sh*t!!!

No problems with tint on my rear windows. And I'm the kind of person that doesn't use my AC so in the summer, I would drive around everywhere with the windows down, even on the highway.

I agree with everyone else. Tint in no way, shape or form affects the window tracks unless you were to take them apart to tint the windows but you aren't supposed to.

No way

I have known lots of people with tint and never once heard anyof them tell this problem. Or many problems really other than fading etc. But I would have to go along with the same things your hearing here.

My windows are tinted, and recently my rear right window has started to make an annoying little sound on the freeway or when racing. I dont think it could have been because of tint because it only recently started heppening, but who knows.

I recently got my front windows re-tinted....actually, they were supposed to do them all, but for some reason just did the front (argh). What I've noticed is that before, my front windows used to roll down "choppily"....ie, not smooth, to where it would shake the door a bit. Also, when I had the drivers' side down any less than 60% of the way, it would rattle fairly obviously, to where I just surrendered and rolled it down almost all the way at all times.

Now with the re-tint job, they both roll down smooth as butter, and no rattling. Which doesn't make much sense to me, but...

If anybody else has a problem with sticky windows, try applying wax to the window when you wax your car. It helps roll the windows down more smoothly.
