I bought a used Place Racing CAI for my 97 SE. But it didn't come with the template for the cutout hole, does anyone have a copy or know how I could get one? I got the directions for the install from the websites, but does anyone have the instructions and parts list, I just want to make sure that I have all the parts. How many metal tubing pieces are there? Finally, the person that I bought it from did not give me the plastic thing that surrounds the hole and protects the CAI, any pictures of what this is and where I can get it?

Thanks for the help

CAI help

I tried getting one of those templates a while ago also. Good luck finding one. I finally had to just cut the hole w/o a template and trial fit to see if the tubing woulb go though. Cut and test, cut and test...... The plastic O-ring that goes around the hole that you cut can be obtained at a local parts store (Home Depot) in the Plumbing section.

I have the Templates I think!

If I do I will scan them and Email them your way!
Oh it is a 3.5" hole and a hole saw will do fine or if you can get your hands on a 3.5" hole puntch from a electrician friend anyway make sure you also use some sort of rust inhibitor on the hole. I just did this install 2 weeks ago on my max so if you have any questions let me know.

u can get the template through place racing if you call them, and they can fax it to you.

i have the CAI instructions on my MaximaDriver.com website. you're more than welcome to look it up there.

as for the hole, use a 3.25" hole saw with a chuck...

good luck.

Re: CAI Installation

Ask Cloud in this forum (or I think the general maxima)

He has good pictures of the installation.
He has used the MaxRev unit which I think is better made.
Also Cheston (Chebosto) has an awesome site where there are lots of info (including the CAI installation).
