Filter for air intake

Guys i already purchased an adapter for my future mod of air intake, and started searching for good filter. Found one here it is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...795112&r=0&t=0

If you have a better one to buy, please give me link where I can order? The way I understand it must be non foam and 3" cone filter.

I will appreciate for tips and help!

Thanks!

Go for it. It looks decent, but without any experience I'm just going on a picture. Nobody here can know the quality of the filter without having it themselves.

Does that look like foam to you? Why not buy a K&N for 40$ and save yourself the worry/hassle?

It's not foam. If you read it even says that it's cotton fiber which is what K&N uses. I'm guessing as long as he uses the K&N lubricant spray that it'll perform almost as well, since it's not a paper filter.

And the K&N filter that size cost about $50-$55 dollars, so it's over twice as much as what he's considering.

I bought that exact filter on e-Bay except the end of mine was blue. In my auction I got to pick the color I wanted. I think I got it for $25 shipped. So far I love it. It sounds great. I say go for it.

Where did you get your adapter??? Did it come with all the hardware, i.e. bracket etc.??

you do not need any hardware for this adapter, it is a bolt in into place of your oem airbox, you just remove it and bolt into it adapter by using existing screws, after all is done you mount those cone air filter 3"

Dude you're wrong on that one... I bought a generic cone filter *exactly* like that one from Auto Zone for $25 + tax. It was for my nephew's 3rd gen, so the fact that it didn't have an adapter on it didn't bother me, I figured the 3rd gens have different intakes. Well anyway, we couldn't put it on his car and I sure as *HE11* couldn't install it on mine...

because...

There's nothing to mount it to!!!!!!

Look at it and tell me how you think you're going to mount that 3" tube with a ring clamp around it?!?!

Now go out and look at your MAF and tell me if you think you're still right.

Buy the adapter from Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com), the part number should be GRM-10-500. Its about $12 plus shipping.
Good Luck

I have that exact same filter except mine has I think it either a 5 or 6 inch opening and it came with the matching adaptor. I like it a lot, it's well worth getting and it is just like a genuine K&N. I hope you get the mounting bracket which keeps it stable from the bottom of it hitting. Like I said, mine came with an adaptor and a mounting bracket for about $50 on eBay.

I have the mounting brackets but they have to be re-drilled to bit a 4th gen. If you want if you buy the bracket with the filter then it'll be an additional $12. email for pics.
