Question about ADR GT Sport Wheels...

Hi Everyone,

I found my new favorite wheel - The ADR GT Sport. I want to get them in 18"x7.5", but I don't know what color! They come in Silver, White, or Hyper-Silver. White is out because I don't like white Wheels, but should I get Silver, or Hyper-Silver?

Here is a comparison picture not of the GT Sport wheel, but it's a comparison of the two colors (Beware - It's LARGE!):
http://www.whalentire.com/othergraph...per-silver.jpg

Also, will 235/40ZR-18 tires be okay for these wheels? Again, they're 18"x7.5". Also, they have a 42mm offset. Will that be ok? I know they'll fit because I've seen them on Maximas before.

Thanks,
-Nick

Nice looking

They are pretty nice looking. I would go for the one on the right. Not sure if that is Hyper or not but I think it looks better.

I agree with SUDZ, the one on the right has the nicer looking finish IMHO.

By the way what is a set of 4 w/ rubber going to run you. Since the first day I put on my 17" Konis I have wanted to step up to 18's. I have never seen a car (our Max's) make wheels look so unproportional.

But I think those 18" ADR's will look TITE!

Well I forget exactly, but from http://www.whalentire.com, the ADR GT Sport (not the one in the pic I linked above) is ~$250 (that's rounding up) each in Hyper Silver. Then I'm gonna get the Kumho tires which are ~$125 (again, rounding up) each. So, estimating, about $1500-$1600. I think that's pretty good for 18" wheels. I was gonna get 17" Verdicts before I decided on these and they were $1200. Plus, I have some connections so I might be able to get these wheels a bit cheaper.

42mm offset

You could always get wheel spacers, I think that's what others have done. 5mm spacers should be good.

Hey check the EBay listing that Whalen Tires has...they offer package deals much less expensive than you mentioned.

its a nice rim, the dv-8. The hyper silver will look exactly the same as the silver on my adr rims.. it just makes it look like stainless steel and it glistens more than regular alloy in the sun.. i love the color.. =)

those are not GT Sports...

GT sports are the ones Shadow has.... Go to www.whalentire.com and check it out. Those are "DV-8" i believe. Look great too..... I am wondering how good ADR wheels are in terms of built quality. I saw a post on another forum where a dude in a Civic hit the curb going 15 mph and the rims literally cracked in half! You also get what you pay for, and I ADR rims aren't expensive...

Just found your post on the ADR rims and last week, I ordered myself the ADR GT Sport rims, 18"x7.5 with 235/40/18 Falken Z rated tires. I even got the newest color, hyper silver and I can't wait to see how they look on my 5th. gen. Since I live in Hawaii, I had to order them from the mainland (the shop I went through didn't have them in stock) and hopefully they will be here this week. I'm being charge $1650 for everything which is a little bit cheaper then most shops out here. But yeah, those prices are pretty good for that combination. Hopefully they will match the color of my car just right.
