Don't worry... Any year between 1996-2000 should yield the same results.

I'm sure that applies for us too. Too bad I think he's fooling himself on what the result would be

I think a Saturn would probably beat me. I'd be laughing so hard that he actually wanted to race me I wouldn't be able to drive. I'd have to pull over.

Why is it that Saturn owners will post this information yet if you pull up next to one they cringe and run the other way? I had some kid in an ugly Saturn pull up next to me reving his engine the other week. I guess he thought he was all that, but when I just reved my engine just once his jaw droppped and he took off down the side street. Go figure....

1998 Lexus GS300
1998 Nissan Maxima SE
1996 VW GTI
1999 VW Jetta GLX
1998 Volvo C70 AWD

Just a few I'm curious about.

Also, it's funny that they even mentioned this
1994 Geo Metro
1996 Geo Tracker

WOW! Cause we all know how fast these beasts are.

note the MPG reference

"Car and Driver's New '99 Car Guide sums it up pretty well in their Road Test Digest. A 1996 Saturn SL2 will scream to 60 mpg in 7.6 seconds and tear up the 1/4 mile in 15.9"

Did you know that it will go 60MPG in 7.6 seconds!!!!

I now know the person who wrote this is a moron....

anyway, I will race a Saturn in park with the Emergency brake on while the car is off and still beat him, hehe.

Dount it.

I doubt that the standard saturn is gonna take us on at all or even keep up. But someone asked about the mmaking aftermaret parts - actually they are coming around. I forget the mag, maybe sports compact car? But anyway they had ads in the back for companies now that make parts for Saturns. Some of them included catbacks and turbo systems. I dont know what results those give you but they are out there.

Thinking of a saturn taking me out on the strip

It will be impossible to do that. Dont you remember the commercial where if one is heading at a Saturn that guy runs over from nowhere and tackles it? You obviously have not researched it

That's a Volkswagon
They let the shopping cart hit the saturn, cause they aren't fast enough to move out of the way.

Hmm... he is using time from the magazines. I hope he knows that is only a reference point. Unless he has proof, it just makes him look like a complete idiot.

BTW-do watch out for the NOSed Saturns. They might give a few of us a run for our money. (Yes i ended up racing one last week and no i didnt lose, he was infor a surprise himself).

Mu college roomate has a modded Saturn. It's the slowest one, the SL1, single cam, 100hp stock. He added an intake, muffler and upgraded the ignition. He also put on Sprint springs. It's fun to drive because it makes cool noises and its very light. But, the shifter is the worst one you'll ever some across...

My Letter To the nice Saturn People

I sent this to the Saturn guys...just wanted you guys to get a laugh:

Dear Editor/Webmaster,

I read the article "Damn Quick" and as a Saturn owner I would have been quite inspired...if i owned a Saturn I would have had much encouragement from the list you give of car's I would be able to beat...I would be especially impressed by the statistic of being able to get 60 mpg (miles per gallon) in 7.6 seconds...fortunatly I do not own a saturn but I appreciate your article anyway...my reason you ask?...well since I own a modded 1997 Nissan Maxima SE I praise you for giving Saturn owners initiative to race and of course dooming them to the fate of watching my tail-lights dissapear in front of them...once again...thank you for the courage you give to Saturn owners so that they stop cowering from races and actually step up to be obviously beaten...take care and I wish you the best of luck in losing...peace

NISMO Forever,
MaxSport730

You don't think i was too harsh???...i kept it professional right?...my fav part is the "dooming to the fate..."...anyway...i'm out

Not just beat, but smoke!!

Also look at the main page:
Fastest Female Drag Racer
Without Nitrous: 16.04 at 86.89 MPH
With Nitrous: Coasted to a 15.16 at 85 MPH (accident involving oil prompted me to lift before the finish line

Hmmm I know theblue has run high 14's with just an intake.
